Tokyo-based artist Johnathan F. Lee has released his debut album on Comatonse, Terre Thaemlitz's label.

As an assistant professor at Tamagawa Univesity, with a doctorate from Columbia in music composition, Lee is firmly couched in the academic world of "computer music." Entitled Dislocated, his new record collects music from various projects dating back to 2003. Some tracks were performed live with other artists, while others accompanied art installations or contemporary dance performances. Stylistically, the album presents an array of downtempo rhythms, fully ambient pieces and Autechre-esque sonic landscapes, most of which have a distinctly electro-acoustic feel.
